P&R's Family Xmas Photo's

One of Motion Photography's members took some time off to get their holiday family photo's ready for printing and mailing.  We did this shoot at Lake Shore and, as you can see by the picture, everyone had a lot of fun.  Well, almost everyone....the dog is a bit perflexed by his family (he's usually the one doing the jumping).

Lanam Family Portrait

It was a bright sunny Sunday afternoon when we all gathered to take family photo's at Creekside Park in Brentwood.  Parents, baby and dog all congregated with anticipation and smiles to get some holiday shots they can send to family and friends.  The park still had some of the vibrant Fall colors, left over from our recent wind storm, making for warm colorful photos.  Please go to www.motionphotographyonline.com to see the entire shoot.

Paige and Alex

We really enjoyed the photo session with Paige and Alex at a small community park in Brentwood this past Saturday.  The weather was heavy overcast and cool, but it gave us a well diffused even lighting situation.  The kids were a little apprehensive at the beginning but both really warmed up (in spite of the weather) and seemed to have a great time.  We used two photographers, one with a 24-70mm and the other packed a 70-200mm.  This gave us the ability to capture some of the candid shots from two different views.  Please visit our main site at www.motionphotographyonline.com to see the rest of the photos.

NCS Cross Country Championships - 2011

There were some of the greatest young long distant runners in Northern California gathered at Hayward High School at the NCS Cross Country Championships on Saturday November 19th.  A number of Personal Records were beaten along with some new track records.  It was a terrific day for running and the course was in great shape.  The MANY spectators in attendance were rewarded with some solid performances.  Take a look at the rest of the pictures from the day at www.motionphotographyonline.com.

Excelsior Cross Country 11/17/2011

Basketball - St. Annes vs St. Anthony's at Timber Point

Great basketball game last night at Timber Point between St. Annes and St. Anthony's.  Action packed from start to finish! St. Anthony's sunk a swisher in the final second of regulation to force overtime.  Although St. Annes ultimately prevailed at the end, both teams should feel proud of their efforts.  The parents and fans were truly treated to a real nail biter.  Take a look at the photos that show some of the highlights at www.motionphotographyonline.com.

Excelsior Cross Country race at Hannah Nicole.

Excelsior ran a Cross Country Meet on Thursday Oct 10th at Hannah Nicole Winery.  The Sixth grade ran first followed by the 7th and 8th grades running together.  The track at the Hannah Nicole was relatively flat, but very challenging according many of the runners.  It was late in the day, with the sun just beginning to set behind Mt Diablo as the last race came to an end.  The folks at Hannah Nicole were gracious and should be recognized for their support of the local young athlets (Thanks Hannah Nicole!).  Please visit our main website at www.motionphotographyonline.com to see the runners in action.

BVAL Cross Country Championship Meet

The BVAL Cross Country Championship meet was held at Shadow Lakes Golf Course on Thursday Nov 3rd.  Umbrella's were in hand for those that attended, but the rain never got worse than a "light" dizzle.  The course was terrific with a number of hills and valley's.  A big thanks goes to Shadow Lakes Golf Course, who turned away their afternoon golfers for the opportunity to host this amazing group of young runners.  There were some new records set for the course this year and all in attendance were treated to a great sporting event.  Please visit www.motionphotographyonline.com to see more pictures from this spectacular cross country meet.

Excelsior Cross Country

Ukiah Invitational Cross Country Meet

Had a good day in Ukiah, about 3 hours north of the SF Bay Area just off highway 101.  Temps were in the mid 80's but very comforable.  The course was fantastic and all seemed to have a good day overall.  Please take time to visit our website at www.motionphotographyonline.com to have a look at the runners in action.

Rough Rider Cross Country Race - Clovis, CA

Lots of dust created by some really great runners.  Went to Clovis California, just east of Fresno, and watched high school cross country racers from throughout California run like the wind.  Weather was warm with a bit of overcast skies keeping the bright sunlight in check for the racers.  You can see more photos from this event at www.motionphotographyonline.com.  Go check them out.

Cross Country - Liberty at Dear Valley

Colton's Shoot

We just did a photo shoot for the Colton's in Oakland, California.  Terrific location with great family and their friends.  Some members of the Cal Berkeley band were on hand to entertain the family much to the surprise and enjoyment of the neighbors.  Take a peak at the photos on our website at www.motionphotographyonline.com  under events.

Just created this blog to enable Motion Photography the ability to give updates regarding our new business, which was just opened in July of this year.  After many decades of shooting pictures throughout the world both for fun and business, we (father and sons), decided to offer our services to others.

We believe one of our strengths, since we each share in a passion for backpacking, is to add a touch of the outdoors in our finished product.  I have attached a picture of myself, my two sons, and two grandsons on top of Mt Whitney, taken in September of 2010 after hiking 230 miles in 16 days on the John Muir Trail (JMT) from Happy Aisle in Yosemite.
